But when this service is &#8220;down&#8221;, it&#8217;s the users&#8217; business that are being put on &#8220;hold&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s the reason why uptime is money!<\/p>\n<p>From Mailchimp to Slack, we monitored the uptime and site speed of the world&#8217;s <strong>top 100 SaaS<\/strong>\u00a0during 30 days. Web Framework<\/h3>\n<p>Before diving into the performance analysis, we wanted to know a bit more about the technologies behind those SaaS 100. We checked their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wappalyzer.com\/categories\/web-frameworks\">web frameworks<\/a>\u00a0and the result is quite surprising&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>More than 50% of SaaS are built under a CMS!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Unsurprisingly, the most popular solution used within the cloud 100 is wordpress (35%) then Drupal (17%) and Adobe (7%). Web Servers<\/h3>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/news.netcraft.com\/archives\/2017\/02\/27\/february-2017-web-server-survey.html\">recent survey<\/a>, microsoft web servers <strong>power 43% of all sites<\/strong> in the internet. But Nginx and Apache remain the leaders when it comes to &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.netcraft.com\/active-sites\/\">active sites<\/a>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>We actually noticed the same trend after checking every site on the list. Uptime performance<\/h3>\n<h4>Global overview<\/h4>\n<p>Reaching 100% of uptime is hard but it&#8217;s not impossible&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>As a matter of fact, <strong>67% of the websites<\/strong> managed to have 0% of downtime! Type of errors<\/h3>\n<p>Being down is one thing, knowing why is another!<\/p>\n<p>The fastest way to solve an issue is to know why it happened in the first place. The most recurring <a href=\"https:\/\/www.internetvista.com\/en\/result-list-internet-monitoring.htm\">error detected<\/a> is a &#8220;no response&#8221; code, which pops up when a page takes more than 30 seconds to load! For the story, Medallia was down due to an <strong>expired certificate&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While this error may seem &#8220;OK&#8221;, the consequences are real!<\/p>\n<p>Because starting from July, Google chrome will mark non <a href=\"https:\/\/searchengineland.com\/effective-july-2018-googles-chrome-browser-will-mark-non-https-sites-as-not-secure-291623\">https sites as unsecured<\/a>. Load time<\/h3>\n<p>In average, the top 100 SaaS load under 0.5 second!<\/p>\n<p>This is a good score especially since Google use page speed as a <a href=\"https:\/\/webmasters.googleblog.com\/2010\/04\/using-site-speed-in-web-search-ranking.html\">ranking signal<\/a> for SEO.
